Oded Ben-Dori
Oded Ben-Dori
Still, words remain

שמחת תורה

From a high world in the light of eyes the deed of this day in full measure

Seventy that have passed in the whiteness of the skies open your noon on a morning of desolation

In a parched land in a desert of a thousand years boughs within our blood reddened crimson

The Torah of hope turns her face eastward over a soil of shade and color and distant days

In canopies of concealment where your secrets were revealed a truth is made known awesome as bannered hosts

To the garden of nuts we shall dance before you bearing upon our palms books and kisses

Soil of a settled land and supernal spheres that came down to do good for the world

Such is the day and such is joy and such is the life of man
